Publication Ethics

This statement outlines the ethical standards and responsibilities of all parties involved in the publication process of Nayara Journal of STEM Education and Innovation (NJSEI), including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher. This statement is based on the guidelines and best practices established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

NJSEI is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and ensuring integrity in scholarly publishing.


Responsibilities of the Editor

  • The Editor-in-Chief and editorial team are responsible for making decisions regarding the publication of submitted manuscripts based on their academic merit, originality, and relevance to the journal’s focus and scope.
  • Editors evaluate manuscripts fairly and objectively without discrimination based on race, gender, religion, ethnicity, citizenship, or political beliefs.
  • Editors and editorial staff must maintain the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts and must not disclose any information to unauthorized parties.
  • Editors must ensure a fair, unbiased, and timely peer-review process and avoid any conflicts of interest or external influence in editorial decision-making.
  • Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used by editors for their own research without the author’s explicit written consent.

Responsibilities of the Reviewers

  • Reviewers assist editors in making editorial decisions and contribute to improving the quality of manuscripts through constructive and objective feedback.
  • Reviewers must treat all manuscripts as confidential documents and must not share or discuss them without authorization.
  • Reviews should be conducted objectively and supported with clear arguments and evidence.
  • Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited and report any potential plagiarism or overlap.
  • Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest and decline to review manuscripts where such conflicts exist.
  • Reviewers are expected to complete their reviews within the agreed timeframe and must not use any information obtained during the review process for personal advantage.

Responsibilities of the Authors

  • Authors must present their research accurately, clearly, and honestly, without fabrication, falsification, or inappropriate data manipulation.
  • Submitted manuscripts must be original and must not have been published or submitted elsewhere.
  • Authors must properly cite and acknowledge the work of others.
  • All listed authors must have made significant contributions and approve the final version of the manuscript.
  • Authors must follow ethical standards in writing and reporting research, including proper referencing and adherence to journal guidelines.
  • Authors are prohibited from submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously.
  • If significant errors are found after publication, authors must notify the editor and cooperate in correcting or retracting the article.

Responsibilities of the Publisher

  • The publisher ensures that all published articles undergo a rigorous editorial and peer-review process in accordance with academic publishing standards.
  • The publisher supports editorial independence and ensures that editors and reviewers can perform their duties without external interference.
  • The publisher is committed to protecting intellectual property rights, maintaining confidentiality, and upholding ethical publishing practices.
  • The publisher ensures the integrity of the academic record by addressing cases of misconduct, including corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern when necessary.
