Plagiarism Policy

Nayara Journal of STEM Education and Innovation (NJSEI) is committed to ensuring the originality and integrity of all submitted manuscripts. All submissions are subject to plagiarism screening using reliable detection software such as Turnitin.

Plagiarism in any form, including self-plagiarism, is strictly prohibited. The journal adheres to the following principles:

Principles of Academic Integrity

  • Originality of Work
Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are entirely original. Any use of others’ work, ideas, or words must be properly cited or quoted.
  • Proper Citation and Acknowledgment
Authors must appropriately acknowledge the work of others. All sources that have influenced the research must be clearly cited.
  • Avoidance of Multiple Submissions
Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously. Submitting identical or substantially similar work to multiple publications is considered unethical.
  • Self-Plagiarism
Authors must avoid reusing significant portions of their previously published work without proper citation or justification.

Plagiarism Screening Process

To maintain high academic standards, the journal implements the following screening procedures:

  • Initial Editorial Check
The Editorial Team conducts a preliminary review of the manuscript, including manual checks of citations, references, and quotation practices.
  • Similarity Check
All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software (e.g., Turnitin) to identify similarity levels.
  • Threshold Policy
Manuscripts with a similarity index of more than 15% (excluding references and properly quoted text) may be rejected or returned to the authors for revision, depending on the severity and nature of the overlap.
  • Further Evaluation
In cases where similarity is within acceptable limits but concerns remain, the editorial team may conduct further evaluation before proceeding to peer review.

Commitment to Academic Integrity

Nayara Journal of STEM Education and Innovation (NJSEI) upholds strict ethical standards and takes all cases of plagiarism seriously. Manuscripts found to violate these principles may be rejected, and further actions may be taken in accordance with established publication ethics guidelines.
