Withdrawal and Retraction

Sintesa Journal of Islamic Economy, Law, and Education (SJEILE) is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record and adheres to ethical publishing standards as recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

1. Article Withdrawal

Withdrawal refers to the removal of a manuscript from the editorial process before it is formally published.

Authors may request withdrawal of their manuscript under the following conditions:

The manuscript is still under review or in the editing process;
There are valid and reasonable grounds (e.g., serious errors, duplicate submission, or ethical concerns);

Requests for withdrawal must be submitted formally to the editorial office. The editorial team reserves the right to accept or reject the request based on the stage of the review process.

Manuscripts that have been accepted or are in the final stages of publication cannot be withdrawn, except under exceptional circumstances approved by the editor.

2. Article Retraction

Retraction is applied to articles that have already been published but are found to contain serious issues affecting their validity or integrity.

An article may be retracted if:

There is evidence of plagiarism or duplicate publication;
The data or findings are proven to be unreliable or fabricated;
There are significant ethical violations (e.g., authorship disputes, unethical research practices);
There is a major error that invalidates the conclusions of the article.

Retraction decisions are made by the editorial board following a thorough investigation and in accordance with COPE guidelines.

3. Retraction Procedure

A retraction notice will be published and linked to the original article;
The original article will remain accessible but clearly marked as “Retracted”;
The reason for retraction will be transparently stated;
Indexing databases will be notified of the retraction.

4. Ethical Commitment

SJEILE upholds transparency, accountability, and academic integrity in all stages of publication. The journal encourages authors, reviewers, and readers to report any concerns regarding published works.
